Trustee Report - Six Month Audit

Semiannual Financial Audit
The trustee’s have just completed their first semiannual audit. We came through the financial part of the audit in great shape. All checks that were drawn on the Local for the last six months were accounted for and the statements balanced to the penny. We were fortunate to have Lamar Reevers with us for the first day. He donated his time to help us get started and worked with us on procedures throughout the day. Thanks again Lamar.
Inventory
Performing the inventory audit was another story. We discovered some items are missing from the hall and storage buildings. If anyone or a committee has property from the Local at this time, please return it. If you had something that was broken or thrown away, let us know so that it can be properly removed from the inventory list.
Storage Units
At the present time our Local rents two storage units. If possible, we would like to eliminate one of these units order to save the Local this expenditure. In order to do this, we will need:
· All standing committees to go through their belongings kept in the storage units. (Think of it as a fall cleaning project.)
· If you don’t need certain items any more, we need you to separate these items and let us know what they are so we can properly record them on our inventory sheets, and then they will be included in one of our bid sales. We would like this completed by the end of October.
· Anyone that has keys to the Local or storage units, please turn them into the hall at this time.
Building Maintenance
· During the shutdown, the Local had a new copy machine delivered and the old machine was retired. (Actually, it was traded in toward the new machine.)
· While we were enjoying our two weeks off in July, Jesse, our custodian and his crew did a fantastic job stripping, waxing, and buffing the floors at the hall and it looks great.
· The trustees have been hard at work completing some much needed exterior painting, cleaning, and organizing. There is a long list that we are working from, and I will keep you updated from time-to-time on our progress. So stop by for a membership meeting and check it out, or just stop by, take a peek, and say hi.
