Trustee Report

October 2006

Greetings Local 730 Members and Retirees,

Heating/Cooling

On September 27, we had all three of the heating and air conditioning units on the roof inspected for the heating season.  We were informed that all three units needed new hot surface igniters, and the east end unit has a broken blower wheel, shaft, and bearings and was inoperable.  I went up on the roof to take pictures and see for myself.

We received two estimates; the first one for repair and the second estimate was to replace the whole unit.  The executive board decided it would be best to repair at this time and is forwarding to membership for approval.  The cost will not exceed $4500.

Parking Lot

The parking lot was cleaned, patched, sealed with three coats, and the lines re-striped.  The work was awarded to Prime Coat Inc. and they did a great job.  It really dresses up the hall’s appearance.  Stop or drive by and take a look.

Snowplowing

The snowplow bid was awarded to Rick’s Snowplowing Service.

Dumpster Relocated

The dumpster has been relocated to the rear of the building.

Retiree Wall

I spoke with the retiree’s last month, and they gave us permission to remove the wallpaper and paint their wall so that it looks uniform with the rest of the hall.  This should be completed sometime in early 2007.  We are still working on obtaining an additional trophy case for the hall.

In closing, I would like to commend the Publication Committee for doing a great job with the Focus on Labor newsletter.

Respectfully submitted,

Greg Golembiewski, Chief Trustee
