TRUSTEE REPORT - AUGUST 2007
Greetings Local 730 Members and Retirees,
Welcome back, we hope that everyone got a chance to spend time with family and friends during the shut down.
Not everyone was so lucky. We used this time to make changes at the union hall. The back exit door at the union hall was relocated by none other than one of our own retirees, Bernie Eisenga. He and his crew worked on the project for eight days. Not only did they remove the door and brick up that opening, they also cut a new opening in the south side of the hall and re-installed the door. They completed the project by putting up any siding that had to be replaced. This project was done in order to properly utilize the space in the union hall. We will be using the newly enclosed room for table & chair storage. This will make the previous table storage room available for grievance files and financial records. The whole project will be completed by mid September.
We put down new tiles in the small entryway on the side of the building and under the drinking fountain. We painted the cabinets in the #1 office, and had the furnace filters changed in preparation for winter.
Snow plowing bids will be available in September. Watch the bulletin boards for the upcoming notice.
We recently completed the semi-annual financial audit. We found all finances to be in order without any discrepancies.
Future Projects: · New sound system for use in the hall. · Exterior siding trim work.
Respectfully submitted, Greg Golembiewski, Chief Trustee Andra Jackson, Trustee Walt Cummings, Trustee
