TRUSTEE REPORT April 2006
Greetings Local 730 Members and Retirees,
Welcome to the April meeting. The cement work in the front of the union hall is completed, it looks great! Weather permitting the plants will be in by the middle of May.
The computer that was purchased for the work center is up and running and they are very pleased with the performance. This bid was awarded to Bob Stalzer, aka Computer Bob, who is an electrician in the plant.
We now have a pop machine which was brought over from Local 1231. It will be used by the renters, as a convenience, the price of the beverages will be between 85 cents and $1.
We contacted Model Coverall and asked them to upgrade the rugs in the union hall. They brought us some very nice looking rugs that match the colors in the hall, and won’t curl up on the edges, for the same price as the old rugs.
We moved 120 chairs and 15 tables from our old inventory to the C.A.P. Office, they will also be shared by Local 19, UAW.
If you have not been over to the union hall in awhile, stop by and take a look around. As was said when we took office, we wanted to make this hall a place that we can all be proud of, and it is really starting to look that way!
Trustee Sale: The wheels are in motion for the Trustee Sale in May. There are postings in the plant and an ad will come out in the May edition of the Grand Valley Labor News.
Membership Cards: New membership cards will hopefully be available at the May membership meetings.
Retiree Wall at the Union Hall: We have a list of retirees names and phone numbers who want to work with the trustees on upgrading their wall in the Union Hall. We would like to meet with them before the June membership meeting. We will be in touch with you sometime in May.
Respectfully submitted,
Greg Golembiewski, Chief Trustee Andra Jackson, Trustee Walt Cummings, Trustee |
