Teeters Tidbits Local 730, U.A.W. Retiree Chapter By Harold Teeter, Trustee Hi, I’m back again. We seem to be getting closer to Christmas. I see the decorations in the stores already. They’re trying to get us keyed up early. You should have received your letter in the mail by now to let you know about the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Hope you respond early so we can make our plans for the Christmas dinner. Reservations are due by Thursday, November 16. Hope to see all of you there. The hall will hold about 400.
I had surgery on my left leg on October 1st to improve the circulation and am now in the healing process. They will do the right leg November 7th. Looks like I may miss the Thanksgiving potluck, but I should be ready for the Christmas fun.
I hope you are all registered to vote, and if you are, make sure to vote. There are a lot of big issues out there, and a lot of money out there being spent on ads. I hope this election can’t be bought, because people think the money is going into the state coffers. He may have money, but it doesn’t buy jobs.
Summer is over now and all the fun at the lake is over. I’m looking forward to next spring already. I would rather see boats going into the lake than coming out. All the hunters like to see this time of year coming when they can get out there and start chasing those white tails, cotton tails, and maybe even a few pats. Some of the best fishing is also coming up now. The coho’s and salmon are filling the rivers these days. I used to love this too, but when my leg quit, I quit also - but I still miss it. Who knows, maybe I can do it again when I get these legs fixed up.
Well I’m going to cut it short now, but before I do I want to remind you that our next meeting is November 16th (instead of the last Thursday of the month) and will be our Thanksgiving potluck. There will be no donuts, but we will have coffee. You are to bring your own table setting and a dish to pass. If your last name starts with A through M – bring a cold dish and N through Z – bring a hot dish. The chapter will furnish meat and potatoes. Hope you all can make it for a festive time. Until then, bye - and don’t forget to vote.
