To: All UAW Local 730 Retirees and Surviving Spouses
Greetings,
Last fall the UAW and General Motors negotiated a new health care package for its hourly retirees subject to approval by the US Court System. The courts have recently approved that package and it is expected to take effect June 1. General Motors mailed you a large packet outlining these changes.
The Benefit Plan Representatives of UAW Local 730 would like to make a presentation of these changes and be available to answer your questions. We expect a large crowd, so we are going to hold it in two sessions. We are asking that you attend the appropriate session based on the guidelines below if you are to attend the morning or afternoon session.
Date: Thursday, June 8th
Location: Local 730 Union Hall 3852 Buchanan Ave SW
Times: 9 to 11 a.m. Last name beginning with the letters A – M. 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Last name beginning with the letters N – Z.
To help us prepare for this meeting, we are asking you to write down your specific questions on paper and submit them in writing to the Local 730 Union Hall by Thursday, May 25. This is also the day of the regularly scheduled May retirees meeting, so you could bring them with you to this meeting.
As there are many more changes to the traditional plan than the Priority Health HMO plan, it is especially important for retirees enrolled in the traditional plan to attend this special meeting. Both you and/or your spouse are invited to come. Please submit your questions and concerns by May 25 so we can make sure the answers to those questions are included in our presentation. Thank you.
