To Whom It May Concern:

Many of our members were upset with your coverage which aired last Thursday, April 17, on “Is Right to Work Good for Michigan?”  We all watch the news and read the papers and realize how difficult it has become for working families.  We know you have a short amount of time to report information, and you cover areas of concern separately - such as:

  • Home foreclosures
  • Increase in crime
  • Job losses
  • Layoffs
  • High cost of gas while record profits are being made
  • Deterioration of the family with increases in divorce and abuse
  • Increase food banks are experiencing

When are you going to do a story that connects the dots; how it is all related?  For over 15 years the UAW has been reporting to its members the ramifications of unfair trade legislation and corporate greed.  We are now seeing and experiencing the results and like I previously stated, when are you going to connect the dots?  I truly believe that we are not going to move forward and improve the lives of working families until we can identify the problem and what needs to be done for effective change.

I would like to share with you an article by one of our members and the following information on how Right to Work effects working families that can be verified thru the UAW’s Education Department in Detroit.  Should you require additional information or clarification, you may reach me at the above numbers.  Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

 Barb Henderson, President
