Best of luck to all
elected to the executive board. Some of you are very seasoned and know what
a big responsibility it is. At this time, the runoff has not taken place
yet. I would like to thank Luanne, who served with the last two Presidents
and has been a tremendous help and great union leader. And what about 2nd
shift Rep George Semposki – longest serving member of the board with 27
years, (many of those terms were unopposed, as was this one). We may not
have always agreed, but I’ve always admired his dedication and enthusiasm
serving our members.
Speaking of not
getting along, I remember when Larry Palmer first got elected to the board
as Trustee and I was Financial Secretary. Larry hadn’t even been sworn in
yet and came to question me on the finances. I explained it to him, and he
went away saying he was okay with my answers; but I think he still had his
doubts. After a few months, I really saw his passion to do the right thing
for the membership - and that’s what it’s all about.
I would like to thank
you for all the words of encouragement and support I have received
throughout my many years of involvement. It has been an honor and privilege
to serve our membership, 730 retirees, and 1231 retirees. What a great
honor it has been to represent you within our community.
I’ve also enjoyed
working with both Louie and Steve, Shop Chairmen. Every appointment we
recommended was handled in a very professional manner, and always in the
best interest of the membership – Carrie Jackson, Denise DeBoer, Sylvia
Lillard, Dave Chester, Bill Conlen, Mike Mansfield, Gilbert Arambula, and
Mike Cook.
I’d like to give a
very special acknowledgement to our Work Family Rep Angie VanArnam. I don’t
know how you cover all three shifts. A huge thank you to our our Benefit
Reps, Doc 46, Local and International Appointed Reps.

Our secretaries
Jenny Bacon and Sheila Haskill, who are always there to help in any way they
can and make all of us look great.
Also, all the help
and support we receive from Region 1D - Don Oetman, Mike Bieber, Sue Levy,
Dan Baldwin, and staff. We always need the support of the Region and
International. No one can do it alone.
To all of us who are
making transitions in our lives, just remember – its God’s plan that when
one door closes, another one opens.
