President’s Report by Barb Henderson

Membership Meeting March 20, 2007

My report this month is going to be short and sweet.  For the past two weeks I’ve been serving on the National Resolutions Committee in Detroit for the Special Bargaining Convention.  It’s never easy when we are called out of town, but stepping up to serve when and where needed is an honor and what the UAW is all about.  I would like to thank Vice President Rocky Love for functioning as Acting President while I was gone.  I appreciate his assistance.

Special Olympics Fundraiser

With your help, our Community Services Committee raised over $1100 for Special Olympics.  The committee received an award for raising the most money for a Local.  Congratulations to the entire committee.

Congratulations on Appointments

Recently we received official notification from the International Union for the following appointments:

·        Gilbert Arambula has been appointed Joint Training Rep.

·        Bill Conlen has been appointed first shift alternate Health and Safety Rep

·        Mike Mansfield has been appointed second shift alternate Health and Safety Rep.

·        Dave Chester has been appointed the temporary Maintenance Apprentice Coordinator.

Congratulations to all on your new positions.
