President’s Report by Barb Henderson September 2007
Labor Day Great job and thank you to Greg Golembiewski, along with the entire Parade Committee, for working so hard to make sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable day. Our Local 730 Parade Committee worked hard as well. Our float looked good, especially with our Local 730 Veterans (both active and retired members) that volunteered to ride the float. The committee also researched and provided the quality tee shirts that were handed out to our members to wear. They sure went fast! Our Union Label Committee provided the candy that was given out this year. They also did a great job researching what and where to purchase the candy. Costco won hands down for value and the way they are known for treating their employees. Congratulations! Congratulations and thank you to Dianna Rostick who was nominated and won the Willie Jones Award this year. She is always willing to give of her time to help, (every year to be exact), along with her beautiful spirit and friendly smile. Dianna is what the award is all about. Special Meeting I would also like to thank our leadership for dropping what they were doing on Friday night to come to the hall for a meeting. Everyone in attendance was ready to work together and do whatever had to be done to get set for the contract expiring at midnight, and ready to handle what we may be directed to do. |
