Election Committee
Election
During the membership meetings scheduled for
Tuesday, January 15,
2008, elections will be held to form the Local 730, UAW Election
Committee. This is a three year term, and interested members must currently
be on the shift they would be elected to represent.
Christmas Party
The Local 730 Christmas Party was held at Studio 28
Sunday, December 9 with over 1400 of our members and their families
attending. Admission was a non-perishable or canned good. Over 1600 canned
goods were contributed and forwarded to our union brothers and sisters in
Greenville. A
big thanks to our Recreation Committee for the great job they do every year
for this event.
Community Service
Committee
Along with the gifts for the Giving Tree, the gate
collection and donation made by the plant totaled $3254. Thanks to everyone
for their generous support.
Cap
Dollar Drive Drawing
The drawing was held at Region 1D Friday, December 14.
There were some winners from Local 730. The entire list of winners will be
posted on the union bulletin boards as soon as we receive them from Region
1D.
Remember Safety
As we look forward
to a new year, we must remember safety while we are in and out of the
plant. With the changing weather, we must be prepared for adverse road
conditions. The possibility of slip and fall incidents increase with snow
and ice.

Take a few minutes to consider extra precautions while
driving.
Friendly Reminder
The union hall office will be closed December 22 thru
January 1.
Quality Network Meeting
in Chicago
Tim Lee, Vice President of GM and Kris Owens, our
International Rep talked about all the contractual training requirements for
this contract. Tim talked about GMS and how we can’t afford to not work
together. They’re 100% behind training.
Kris also had praise for one local that saved the company
$51,000 since May by going to another local for training instead of an
outside company. That was our Local 730 Joint Training Rep Gilbert Arambula
working with Randy Hendricks out of the International. Great job guys.
They are encouraging all plants to do more in-house training
Thank You
I would like to thank all our standing committee members,
elected officials, and members of Local 730 for the support they have shown
for the many different projects and events accomplished this year. Please
keep our union brothers and sisters, family members, and those less
fortunate in your hearts and prayers during these very trying times, as well
as our soldiers who are serving all over the world. Have a safe and happy
holiday, and thank you for allowing me the honor of serving you.
