Regional PEL

Paid Educational Leave

Once again classes are being offered locally for the Regional PEL Program. This week long program is a 40 hour class and deals mainly with the changing auto industry. Presenters for the class are from state universities and will bring you up-to-date on the industry and the role we play in it. Over the years, many people from our location have participated in this class and have spoken very highly of it. It is open to both the hourly and salaried workforce.

If you are interested in attending one of this year’s five sessions and have not participated in a Local or Regional PEL Program, you may complete the bottom portion of this form. Turn the form into Mike Nickels, UAW Training Coordinator, or his salaried counterpart Sandy Tipton. Both are located in the Personnel Department. Additional forms will be available from the departmental clerks.

When filling out the form, please indicate a preference for the session you wish to attend. The classes run from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are usually held at UAW Region 1D located at 3300 Leonard NE, Grand Rapids.
