Nominations open: 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008,
and will close at: 3 p.m. Monday April 28, 2008
Those wishing to accept nomination must do so in writing on the proper form available at the Local Union office, and you must be a member in good standing of Local 730 for a period of one year. You must also specify the position you are accepting nomination for, and the position of Shift Representative you must be working on that shift at the time of nomination as your regular shift.
Election will be held: 5 a.m Tuesday, May 13, 2008
through: 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Location: Local 730, UAW Union Hall
3852 Buchanan Avenue SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan
If necessary, a runoff election will be held from 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 until 5:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, same location.
Absentee ballots will be allowed in accordance with the UAW Local 730 Bylaws, and under the procedure called for in the “Guide for Local Union Election Committee” page 15. All officers will be sworn in during the June 17, 2008, membership meetings.
Meet Your Candidate Booklet
Nominees who wish to appear in the ‘Meet Your Candidate’ booklet are responsible for making sure their resumes and photos make the deadlines.
Photos will be taken by Rick O’Rourke the following dates/times in the Communications Room:
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24
6:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday April 28
Resumes - Deadline is no later than 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008.
· Resume forms may be picked up and dropped off at the Local 730 Union Hall located at 3852 Buchanan Avenue SW.
· Resumes must be 100 words or less.
· Please submit your resume early; this will help tremendously in getting the Candidate Booklet printed and to our members as soon as possible.
