Conservation Committee Report

Well, we’re starting off with this article and hopefully will continue on with a series of articles from your Conservation Committee.  The committee is looking for new members, so if you are interested in joining, please stop by the local hall office or see just about any one involved in the union.  I’m sure they can get you started in the right direction.  Campers, hikers, sportsmen and women, environmentalist, horse backers, just about anything to do with enjoying the outdoors of Michigan.

Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at the Local 730 Hall currently at 7 a.m.  The time is not set in stone and can be adjusted to fit the members of the committee.  So let us here from you as to what you might like to read about or would like us to investigate and report on.  Or maybe something interesting that you would like to share.

I would like to know how many hunter safety instructors there are in the plant.  Please let us know who you are and what area you are from.

Hunters….now is the time to check out your equipment:  guns, bows, stands, blinds, and your dogs.  Please be careful with those broad heads in arrows.  We all know somebody who cut themselves bad doing this.  I would also like to hear from the bear hunters in Michigan.  Bear hunting has come back a long way and is being enjoyed by many.  So let us know how you or your family did.

See you in the great outdoors,

Charlie Geerlings, Chair
