Salvation Army Giving
Tree –
Deadline: Friday,
December 2, 2005
Boy, where did the
year go? I can’t believe it’s time for the Giving Tree already. To all the
new members and old members as well, I just want to take a minute and
explain how the Salvation Army Giving Tree works.
Every year the
Salvation Army calls us to see if we can help, and for the last 20 or so
years, we have been able to help. We are given about 25 to 30 families that
have been screened through the Salvation Army. Each family member states
what they need or for some, (the kids), want.
·
The three
Christmas trees set up through the plant will be filled with tags.
·
On the
tags, the name, age, and gift will be listed.
·
After all
the gifts are purchased with the help of our members, we deliver them to the
Salvation Army for them to deliver to families.
We look forward to
all your help.

Thank You to Willard
Shoes
The Community Service
Committee would like to say thank you to our members and Willard Shoes.
With the $500 we were able to take out of our funds, we purchased 100 dozen
socks and Willard Shoes donated another 20 dozen. That’s a total of 1440
pair of socks.
On September 28, our
committee delivered the socks to God’s Kitchen. With our donation, they
will be able to pass out socks during the fall and winter months. We would
like to extend the thank you from God’s Kitchen to all our members.
Respectfully
submitted,
Karen Frens-Kennedy,
Chair
Community Service
Committee

Bigney, George Casarez, Daniel Kelting, Norma Martinez, Marie Ruiz, and
