Medicare Part B

If you are a retiree or spouse/dependent of a retiree, you are required to be enrolled in Medicare Part B once you become eligible for Medicare.  In order to enroll for Medicare B and avoid paying full cost for your GM healthcare, you must go to your local Social Security office by March 31, 2007 to enroll.  If you have questions regarding this, please call:  SSDC at 1(800) 374-9950 ext 222

 2007 Dependent (and Spouse) Verification - Call:  1(800) 489-4646

·        Enter your Social Security Number (by using the phone key pad).

·        Enter or say your PIN number (this is the same PIN as for the PSP)

·        Follow the prompts to verify dependents and you are finished.

 If you need to create a PIN:

·        Employee will be prompted to enter date of birth.  Example:  01012007

·        Employee will then be prompted to enter zip code.          Example:  49316

·        Then there will be a prompt to create a PIN.  Use 6 to 12 number followed by # sign.  Then they will ask you to re-enter your pin.

·        You will be prompted to choose a security question.  Use your key pad to spell the answer.  You will be asked to confirm this also.

 

To verify your dependents:

·        Say “Health and Insurance.

·        Say “Dependent Verification.

·        Follow the phone prompts to verify dependents.

·        When the call is completed, you will be offered a confirmation number and a mailing will be sent out.

 

Representatives are available 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the GMBSC.

 

All employees MUST call to verify dependents

and spouses or healthcare will be canceled May 1st.
