Benefit and Service Center run by Fidelity.
·
Healthcare
·
Disability
·
Life
Insurance
·
Layoff
Benefits
·
Pension, as
well as,
·
401k
Personal Savings Plan
Many of us are
already familiar with Fidelity and have been accessing PSP information using
our social security and established pin numbers on the phone and through the
web at: www.401k.com
Now,
all benefit administration is done through one phone number:
1-800-489-4646
and
www.gmbenefits.com
If accessing Fidelity
by phone at 1(800) 489-4646, you will be prompted to go through a series of
steps to access your benefits:
1.
Put in your
social security number.
2.
Put in your
PIN
number, or say “Representative”
3.
Select the
area you are concerned with. For example: “Pension” or “Savings Plan”
You will then be
directed to a servicing representative who will assist you.
Your Benefit Reps
are still available to assist you with life-event processing. However, due
to the administrative changes, many of the
|
details we were able
to perform for you through our computer systems, now have to be done through
Fidelity’s phone system by you or jointly with us present.
In the past two
weeks, this has proved to be a very time-consuming process. We are working
diligently with Fidelity and the International Reps to get our process back
up to speed. Hopefully, this change will prove to be a better system for
all of us, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Credited Service
Records for Retirement
For those active
employees interested in checking on credited service records for retirement,
you need to contact Fidelity by phone or navigate to the “Request a Pension
Form” page of the gmbenefits.com website available 24/7. Many other
personal details are available to employees and retirees on the web site as
well.
Access to Employee
Benefit Information
Prior to January 1,
Benefit Representatives used computer access for employee benefit
information to give up-to-date responses on healthcare, credited service,
and many other issues. We do not have access with Fidelity, but are told
that it will be established again after March 1, 2005.
