Social Security Benefits If you are already receiving Social Security benefits you should automatically receive Medicare A and Medicare B cards in the mail two to three months prior to your 65th birthday. You should not need to contact the Social Security office unless you don’t receive a card or have not been receiving benefits prior to age 65.
Note: In most cases, it is important to keep Medicare B because it is your primary insurance beginning at age 65.
Benefit Rep Assistance Those of you who are disabled or retired and have difficulty in accessing our office may call the Benefit Office at 616-246-3450 or 1-800-730-8292 and make an appointment to meet your representative at the Local 730 Union Hall during normal business hours.
