Who We Are

UAW Local 730 members are the hourly employees and retirees of the recently closed General Motors Grand Rapids Metal Stamping Plant located at 300 36th Street SW, Grand Rapids, MI, 49548.

Our purpose, as defined in the UAW Constitution: Essential to the UAW’s purpose is to afford the opportunity for workers to master their work environment; to achieve not only improvement in their economic status, but, of equal importance, to gain from their labors a greater measure of dignity, of self-fulfillment, and self-worth. Extending these gains in dignity, self-fulfillment and self-worth to the community is an integral part of the objective of the labor movement to which the UAW belongs.
